Our Gifted & Enrichment program at Aquarian Charter School is different than any other program you’ll find within the Anchorage School District.

As a school, we believe in a rigorous academic setting that meets each child’s needs.  Many of our teachers have their gifted credentials and differentiation is done for all students in math, reading, spelling, and writing.  This way all students may work to their best abilities.

Our gifted and enrichment program adds to this by providing monthly one-hour enrichment activities to each class.  Students with achievement and ability scores in the 90th percentile and above, also receive an additional small group lesson or activity guided by Ms. Christina, our gifted & enrichment instructor.

Gifted and enrichment lessons are aligned with ASD Gifted Goals.  They focus on expanding students’ knowledge and background in the sciences, mathematics and humanities through experiences beyond those offered in the regular classroom.  Students are given opportunities to further develop their problem solving and creative thinking skills and to participate in hands-on experiments and activities.
